r Melissa Clarke (BPhty, MBBS (Hons I), FRACP) is an Endocrinologist and General Physician. After graduating with first class honours from the University of Queensland in 2008, she completed specialist training at Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, Cairns Hospital, and Mater Hospital Brisbane. Dr Clarke currently works out of the North Lakes Specialist Medical Centre, and has public appointments in diabetes at Caboolture Hospital and North Lakes Health Precinct. She has previously worked at the Queensland Diabetes and Endocrine Centre at Mater Hospital, and as a general physician at Sunshine Coast University Hospital. Prior to medicine, Dr Clarke was a physiotherapist.
Dr Clarke has experience in all areas of adult endocrinology. While having a special interest in diabetes, Dr Clarke also enjoys managing osteoporosis and thyroid disease, as well as calcium, pituitary, adrenal, and gonadal disorders. She also enjoys providing perinatal diabetes and endocrine care.

Dr Clarke enjoys teaching and learning. She won a Royal Brisbane Clinical School Recognition of Outstanding Teaching Award and has been an Associate Senior Lecturer with the University of Queensland Clinical School of Medicine. She has published multiple research articles in peer reviewed journals. Dr Clarke regularly attends educational meetings and has been a member of the Endocrine Society of Australia, Australian Diabetes Society and the Statewide Diabetes Clinical Network.

Having grown up in north Brisbane and now raising her young family here, Dr Clarke is dedicated to providing compassionate, up-to-date, patient-centred care for people in the area. Dr Clarke is also happy to provide Telehealth (video) consultations when appropriate.

Dr Clarke requires for all referrals to be sent prior to any appointments being made to ensure appropriate appointment allocation for urgent patients.
